  1. Here are some things you can check or try: (1) Which version are you using? If you go to Help -> About Copper, the latest download from the site says v1.27. (2) On the Web Access page, under "Current Status:" does it say, "Your network is configured properly"? (3) Can you give more details about what you did to get the error message? Are you using Copper with another program such as Inventoria?
  2. (1) Open Inventoria. (2) Options -> Other -> Advanced Settings... (3) Check "Allow Express Invoice, Express Accounts, or Copper to synchronize with Inventoria. (4) Enter a number or password that is hard for others to guess and click OK. Sometimes I use 123456 for testing, but I'm sure you can be more creative than that. Leave Inventoria running. (5) Open Copper and log on. (6) Options -> Sync Apps. (7) Select "Synchronize this installation of Copper as a client of Inventoria or Copper. (8) Enter your code again here. (9) Enter the IP address. Enter 127.0.0.1 if Copper and Inventoria are running on the same machine. (Otherwise, you may need to go back to the other machine and visit www.whatsmyip.org or use another approach to see the IP address of that machine.) Normally, just enter 127.0.0.1. (10) Enter the port number, which is 1097 for Inventoria. (11) Click "Retrieve Locations". Then select a location from the drop-down. If you haven't changed the defaults in Inventoria, it will be "Main Warehouse". (12) Click "Update now" to make sure it works. (13) Click OK. From now on, Copper should update the Inventoria stock counts whenever you sell an item.
  3. It was just released a few days ago.
  4. If you're using a full-page printer, the newest version prints shorter receipts. I hope that helps.
  5. (1) Click "Find Item". (2) Type in your search term. (3) It will select the first matching item in the list. (4) Press F3 to find the next matching item. You can file a user suggestion to add a search box next to the filter boxes as a more convenient alternative to the existing search functionality. Maybe instead of finding items one at a time like the "find item" functionality, the search box could behave like the filters and only show items that match the search.
  6. I don't know the answer to your first question. The normal cycle for a transfer is Request, Send (in transit), Receive (received). I tried it and I was able to cancel a transfer before sending it, but not after sending it -- in that case, I had to complete the process. You can always transfer the items back to their original location with a second transfer. You cancel a transfer from the "View Transfers" dialog, which is one level up from the dialog that lets you actually create transfers.
  7. My scanner always adds the ENTER keypress after each scan. I think if you go through the sequence on page 38 of the same manual, it should work for you.
  8. Copper works with barcode scanners in "HID keyboard emulation" mode. Basically, it acts like a second keyboard. The advantage of this is that you don't have to worry about specific drivers. If you open Notepad or TextEdit, plug in your USB barcode reader, and scan a barcode, you should see it enter the digits if it is working correctly. You may be able to configure the barcode reader to work in a specific mode by scanning a setup barcode such as the ones in this document on pages 32-38. For your scanner, you would probably choose "HID Keyboard emulation" on page 36, but you might need to experiment with it. Symbol LS2208 Quick Reference Guide (P/N 72-65651-01 Rev.
