I know this is a very old post, but maybe someone would still like some info on this. There is a program available called GordianKnot. If you Google that, you will find it and instructions on how to strip out the audio to an MP3 file. GordianKnot can also be used to convert a DVD to a video file, which can be saved on a computer of made to fit on a portable player. Jesse

I have been watching my ExpressScribe player today, and it seems to jump to 11 seconds.

I have the same problem, and sometimes the progress bar/horizontal scroll time marker is not calibrated right; the files ends and the marker is not fully to the right. I have not noticed, though, how far into a file it jumps (you say 5 seconds), but it only happens after I click done or do a CTRL + N. Jesse
