  1. Hi,

Can you please give a screenshot or at least a description of the icons you are talking about? Voxal doesn't install any icons apart from its own application icon and it does not associate itself with any file types. Is it possible that you have also installed other software alongside Voxal?

    Ben

  2. Hi Vaughan,

Ok, you learn something everyday! Today I learned that if you download a version from our website within the first couple of days after it has been released, we still leave it marked as a beta version with the beta menu item. However, it is not technically a beta, it is a full version release.

So, the version you have installed is identical to the version that you would download from the link I gave (and the link from the email you received).

If you would prefer to not have the "Beta" menu item, then uninstalling and reinstalling the programs should remove it.

    Sorry for the confusion :(

    Regards,

    Ben

  3. Hi Visage,

I'm glad the problem has been resolved. I just have a couple of questions to help me clarify what happened when you saw that the audio was gone. I'd like to know just in case there is a bug hiding under the surface which needs fixing.

    1. Were there any waveforms drawn in the clips, or were they completely blank?

    2. Had you recently moved any files from the project directory?

    3. Did you try and play the project, and if so, did you hear anything?

    Regards,

    Ben

  4. Hi Sir Mandrake,

This is an issue I am aware of, and we are discussing what to do about it. It is quite likely that we will put BroadWave back into development at some point to address this. Any other suggestions you have in regard to future versions would be welcome :)

    Regards,

    Ben

  5. Hi Golden Dakota,

It's possible that there is a problem with the SoundTap driver. Try rebooting your computer, and that should fix the problem. I'll also report the issue to our Mac SoundTap developer.

In regard to your second question, your phone will see each 1 hour recording as *one* track. So let's say you have 5 x 1 hour tracks on your phone. If you play in shuffle mode, it will randomly choose one of those 5 tracks and play it in its entirety. Then it will choose another of the 5 tracks and so forth.

    Ben

  6. A quick update:

Version 3.91 of MixPad is now going through our testing process and if it all goes well will be available for download in the next 2 days.

    Ben

  7. Hi juststrummin,

It turns out there is a bug in the current release which affects some mp3 files by adding a short duration of noise. The bug is now fixed, and I will get a new version of MixPad released ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for bringing this to my attention :)

    Regards,

    Ben

  8. Hi juststrummin,

I'm not able to reproduce this issue using my setup. Could you give a bit of info on your workflow?

    1. Which version of MixPad are you using?

    2. What are your output mp3 settings?

    3. What kind of tracks do you have in your project? eg. Instrument recordings, imported mp3s, MIDI etc.

    Regards,

    Ben

  9. Hello Visage,

Are you talking about a recording where the music and vocals are already mixed into one final output file?

If so, then I'm afraid there really isn't any reliable way of separating the vocals from the lyrics. WavePad can attempt to do this using its Vocal removal feature, but the results will depend heavily on how the music was originally recorded.

    Ben

  10. Hi lawnwood,

The version of SoundTap you are using is quite an old version (I think about 5 years) since we no longer have that message in the program. If I remember correctly, the SoundTap driver would disable itself if it detected that it was causing problems to the audio system. Unfortunately, there is no way to really fix this other than upgrading to the latest version.

    Ben

  11. Hi cliff,

It looks like you have found a bug, so I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. We are working on getting a fix out right now. In the meantime, there is a fairly easy workaround for the problem which is to use the right click menu. Select the songs you want to move, right click and click "Add selected tracks to playlist...".

I expect that we should have the new fix in place in the couple of days and drag and drop will be working correctly.

    Regards,

    Ben

  12. Hi ChecMark,

vapors is correct. The software which would best suit your needs is WavePad. MixPad is focussed on taking multiple audio sources and then combining them into one final mixed file. WavePad is more focussed on editing a file and saving the changes.

What you want to do *can* be done in MixPad, but you would need to do it to one song at a time. But as has been said, it's not really designed that way. WavePad wil allow you to apply a fade in/out to your tracks as a batch process which means that once you have set the fade in/out time in the way you want, it can be applied to any file quickly.

    Ben

  13. Hi daorus,

Removing reverb is very difficult, but sometimes you can get decent results. In order to do this you will probably need to open the audio of your clip in WavePad which has more audio filtering options.

There are 2 basic strategies I would recommend you try:

    1. Use a noise gate to attenuate low level noises which may help reduce the reverberations.

    or

    2. Use a VST plugin which is designed to remove reverb. If you google this you will see there are quite a few - some are free, some require licences. In order to use the VST in WavePad you will need to install the VST and then go to the effect tab in WavePad and click the "VST" button.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Ben

  14. Hi mjb,

You must not delete aud files unless you are certain they are no longer needed. These are not temporary files - they contain the audio for your project and once they're gone, so is your audio. If you are finished working on a project and wish to free up disk space then I would recommend backing up your MixPad project to another location, verifying it still works correctly and then you can safely delete. To do this you will need to copy the .mpdp file and the associated ProjectData folder along with it.

    Ben

  15. Hi Yiddo69,

This is a strange problem, but a couple of thoughts come to mind.

    1. Just double check that your headphones or speakers or whatever you are using to listen to your recordings are not the culprit (ie, only partially plugged in or something).

    2. If you run the recording wizard (left-most button on the main toolbar) are you getting a good signal on both channels when you get to the "Recording Volume Calibration" screen?

    3. If you listen to the recordings immediately after you have made them and *before* you run any of the "Audio Restoration Tools" options, do you hear stereo or mono?

    4. Can you open one of the recordings in WavePad using the button from the toolbar and check what the file properties are? You should be able to see this in WavePad on the bottom info bar - you should see the sample rate and number of channels.

    Regards,

    Ben
