Any way to turn off tool tips?

Love almost everything about the software. Except for one little thing that is driving me up the wall and beyond. Is there any setting to turn off the tool tips? Because they insist on popping up on the smallest of buttons preventing you from clicking the freaking thing. Particularly irritating when in full screen mode. You sit there slowing panning forward, reverse to find just the right place to cut the vid. Then you click cut and go back to normal view only to find out the click didn't really happen because the God**** tool tip popped up again. So you have to go back to full screen and start from scratch. Tried searching with null so asking here.

No way, AFAIK.

But a pop up shouldn't keep you from clicking on the desired button.  The link button that this tip refers to is offset from the button. 

A sequence splitting example...

For effects,  shortcuts may be useful.  In OPTIONS, that tab may or may not be shown, depending upon the VP build that installed.

If it doesn't appear, and you want it, no need to download again.  Simply reinstall repeatedly until the tab shows up.  This can take several tries.

Way. Sorry wasn't quite clear. The problem happens only when in Sequence full screen. Sometimes on the play buttons but mostly on the split clip button on the lower right. If you play with it you'll see the split doesn't always happen. Unless you wait for the tool tip on the split button to disappear it won't let the click though to do it's job. The space is just to tight for the tool tip to be placed out of the way like it normally is.

When sequence view is full screen, dragging the red line to a split point along the blue bar you can click the Split button almost straight away before a popup appears. I have no problem here with VP 8.20 in this respect splitting numerous times to test. Works every time

However, more annoying is that if you hang around with the cursor stationary on the blue bar, the sequence plays automatically and the control options disappear.

If the problem is that the split pop up is vertical, instead of like this...    that can be changed.

Reinstall the program (no need to download again) and the pop up should eventually appear as above.  This can take several tries.

Nat, please post a picture or video of this as it's unclear to me what you see.
