I'm having an issue where I cannot decode/play .wav files that are 24bits or more. The file I'm having issues with is: Sample rate : 48000 Hz Channels : 2 Bits per sample : 24 Bitrate : 2304 kbps Codec : PCM_S24LE; PCM signed 24-bit little-endian Size: 759 MB (796 188 836 bytes) The file plays fine on my Win10 PC in various programs, just not in WavePad -->> I get a garbled waveform https://i.imgur.com/YU59ACp.png and no audio output. If the file is a 24bit FLAC or WavPack, it decodes fine in WavePad and I can load/play/edit it. If the file is 16bits, I can load/play/edit it fine. Just not 24bit .wavs! Are there any suggestions?

If you are having problems saving .wav files , using VSTi then I might have an answer. I found that saving my creation to .wav it would only use Microsoft GS Wavetable Default Instrument , even though I was using VSTi ! There is however a Long winded way to save VST Instruments. I might well post a few Screen Grabs in the morning. Showing how to get this to work , not just using the Untick Render MIDI option in Export , as I found that this did Not do as I wanted. Please reply if you which to see my work around. Regards S

I've been using Stamp for tagging mp3s successfully for several years. Need to tag some WAV files which seems to work in Stamp but when I look at the properties of the files in Windows Explorer the tag fields (title, artist, etc.) are still blank. Anyone have this problem and find a solution? Many thanks, Dave

Hello, I'm new to this, and so far have really had great success with the software. I've made nine recordings and they sound great in playback mode using MixPad. However, when I try to export them (convert) to MP3 or wav files, the quality drops tremendously, and it seems like the places where multiple tracks exist, the levels waver (that's about as close as I can come to describing it). It seems like the vocal track goes up and down in level in comparison to the rest of they music. Any ideas how to convert while still retaining the original quality?

I have installed wavepad and have five .wav files I wish to edit. All of them are recorded on the same device and are 63kb in size. All have the same format and same naming structure. I can only open one of the files and edit it. When attempting to open any of the other files, I get a blank page. One of the files gives the error message that there is insufficient disk space. I have 45GB of free space. I can open and play all of the files on other players (e.g. VLC). Is it only possible to open and edit one file? Even if I close the file that I can edit, shut down WavePad, open it again and try to open any other file, I get a blank page. Just to clarify, I am not even trying to open multiple files at the same time. I just want to open one file at a time. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but can still only open the one (same) file. All of the file lengths are about 30-50 seconds of voice audio. Thanks for your feedback.

I recently switched to Mac and I'm running El Capiton. Express Scribe has not worked since I switched. It loads files at half (or less) than their actual length and sometimes, the audio won't play at all. I am at my wits end because there are next to no other programs (besides InqScribe) and I'm losing time and money!

We dictate with some Android app and create WAV files that we send to our secretary by Email. The sound quality is good, means, the dictation is clear. Depending on where the dictation was recorded, there is some background noise, but nothing drastic. However, having imported the WAV file, the quality reduces drastically. There are audio artifacts and background noise that is so much amplified, that the dictation can hardly be understood. Any idea what can be done? Guess that is a compression or CODEC issue but where can I change which setting, so that this reduction of quality can be avoided? Klaus

Every Time I try to convert an .mp4 to an .mp3 or a .wav, it stops with a beep, and it says "Could not open audio stream from file" under "Other Information", Is there any way to fix this?, I already tried re-installing the program.

Hi All, I have downloaded the trial version of switch sound converter and trying to convert a few mp4 files to wav files. Conversion happens but I cannot hear sound in it when playing. I got an alert message saying something like "convert with Prism since the file is a video file" and I clicked "Yes", which did not work and clicked "Cancel" which also produces the same result. Also I noticed that when I try to convert mp4 files from command line, the files donot get loaded and hence not converted. Apart from this issues, the program works great. can someone point out what I should do? I am planning to purchase the license if it works well for mp4 files also. Regards
