Video project files mysterious being deleted. This happens to anyone else?

My video project files mysterious being deleted. This happens to anyone else?

I do not understand why this keeps happening. If there is perhaps a hacker who keeps attacking my files or if they are being deleted by a anti-virus, cleaning software, syncing software, maybe when reformatting my computer they are left behind on the C-drive. 

Maybe when reformatting software, the .VPJ files are left behind in the old videopad folders? 

Has project files gone missing for anyone else and if so, have you found out the reason why?
