Norma Thomas
As I am editing video, the tracks are blacking out on their own.
borate
Things you can try... Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED and in the GPU area at the bottom change from Default to None (CPU only). Then restart Videopad. Are the PC's video drivers and Direct-X up to date... AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us If no joy, install this release. Ignore any virus warnings. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert. And, for protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
Norma Thomas
1. I'm running v16.08 2. I have changed the GPU from Default to None (CPU only) 3. I have restarted about 6 times. 4. This is a brand new HP Envy; Drivers up to date 5. I have saved 3 different versions of this same project. 6. In addition to the video track blackouts, EVERY TIME I make a cut, the remaining video and audio lose sync; maximizing the Preview freezes it; random clips are popping up in the sequence preview. Right now the preview is playing one thing and the sequence timeline is showing something else. 7. Your THIS release link doesn't work.
borate
Please install this release. If your project then prompts that it will not load, open the folder on the PC where the VPJ file was saved. Make a copy of that file. Right-click on it press <ctrl-C>, to copy. Then right-click an open space in that folder and press <ctrl-V> to paste. This copy will appear. Open it in Windows Notepad. Change the # in the very first line to read version=12. Save the file. Now, using Videopad version 13.09, double-click the new VPJ. Ignore the warning message, and your project will load. Let us know if that solves the issues. Shortly, a revised release will be available, but there's no mandate to update if this is working well. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.
Norma Thomas
Thank you, but no, this did not resolve the issue. I have one video track that I am working with! The audio and video seem to be synced though.
borate
What release # is being used now? You say above that the suggested link did not work. Precisely how did it not work? Here's an alternative link. Give it a try. If problems persist, please mention specifics. Then share your project for analysis. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
