Problem making playable DVD movie

In video pad if I choose export video type as ‘DVD movie disk’ the software selects ‘Burner: Image file’. I continued on, but this created an .ISO file which won’t play on a DVD player. After some research I determined that I need to create an MPEG-2 file to make a playable DVD. A couple questions:

1. Why does VideoPad select ‘Image file’ as finished file type when you tell it you are making a DVD Movie disk?

2. How do I get VideoPad to create an MPEG-2 video so I end up a playable DVD movie?

When you get to this screen, click the caret to the right of "image file" and choose the optical disk burner...

An ISO file can be played on Windows PCs.  It's seen as a drive letter, and can be opened in a viewer.  MPC-BE is a good choice.

If the file system of the ISO is examined, you will see VOB files.  They contain the video.  Double-clicking on a VOB should bring up a player.

The ISO can also be used to burn a DVD - with software like Express Burn.
