Using the "Playback Speed Change" button beneath the clip preview panel I set the speed of a clip to 0.2x.  When I put that clip in a sequence, it first plays at the slow speed but subsequently reverts to the original, full-speed file.  How do I keep the slow speed that I want.

Wrong button - the one under the preview window is strictly for playback.

Right-click on the clip itself, either in the bin or on the timeline, and Change Clip Speed.

Changing speed on the bin clip won't affect that clip on the timeline - unless the bin clip is added to the timeline after the bin change.

Changing speed on an existing timeline clip won't affect that clip in the bin.  They're independent.

Thank you Borate.  I had seen this in the FAQs but, rather unintelligently, thought it would allow only 50%, 100% and 200%, whereas I wanted 20%.  All OK now.
