JoTheVideoBear
I don't find any help when editing this kind of video: I have 3 video clips, 3 different views of the same action. I now want to switch between the clips so the result is like "a live mixer". Audio is used from Track 1. I want to switch or transition between the 3 tracks. How? borate
Exported video can't be switched 'live' between clips, but a project can be built with switches between clips. Here's one way... Stack the views on different tracks, then click the Multicam button, under the preview window. In the Multicam window all tracks are shown. Check only the box of the track to be used at the specific cursor location. Then click Add Switch. An appears above the clips. Now move the cursor to the right to where the next view is to be seen, uncheck the prior track box and check a new one, and so on. Transition effects can be added as well by clicking an . Scenes that are 'live' are highlighted on the timeline; others are dimmed. Double-click this video to enlarge it. JoTheVideoBear
Hi, version 6.10 apparently has no multicam button. Do I _have_ to upgrade?
borate
You can test drive the latest release on a trial basis without upgrading. There's also a free version with limited functionality, which may or may not include multicam. Lacking that feature, the same result can be manually built, keeping in mind that higher tracks override lower tracks. But it's a lot more work. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
