How place a video "fade in" and "Video "fade out" at the beginning and end of video clip respectively?

I have a video project in process.  I have taken a clip (or track) and wish to add a Video fade in and video fade out.  I haven't been able to find that option.  Also, I would like to add the individual names of the band members at the beginning, sort of like that which you would see at the start of a movie 

I am new at this but determined to learn.  Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you,  Bowie

One of the many ways to implement fades is to click the FADE symbol at the beginning and end of the sequence...

From the HOME tab use the Simple Text tool for names.  Drag the clip's edges to any length.
