jayv999
Hi, I'm new here. I downloaded SWITCH last week and successfully converted some m4a files to Wav. Now when I try to do the same I get an aacdec.exe error message: aacdec.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I click for more information I get the following: AppName: aacdec.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00032a16 I downloaded a new aacdec.exe file, but no change. I uninstalled, then reinstalled Switch. no change. I rebooted. no change. Any suggestions??? Thanks for your help! --Jay
nchtj
what happens when you go to Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\Components\aacdec\ and open the aacdec.exe file in the command prompt ? does it look okay ? its also possible some program you installed replaced your msvcrt.dll run time library with an old version, do a start -> run -> type "sfc" and run a system file check to be sure. jayv999
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm thinking that the msvcrt.dll is probably the problem. I'll give it a try and get back. --Jay
