Why does Wavepad double some parts of my audio?

Hi. I am recording a audiobook chapter by chapter. Of course, sometimes i need to correct myself. Whenever i need to reread a part, i trim the end and hit record again. However. Some parts seem to double. But it is not the wrong recording, and the corrected one, .... but two of the exact same corrected recordings. And then i have to listen to the whole thing, which is approximatly half an hour, and some parts are doubled. random in lenght. How do i get rid of that? thanks for your help.
