Pixelation/Distortion of video

Is this in preview or after exporting?  If the latter, what are the export settings?

What is the format and resolution of the source video?

Confirm that the PC's video driver and Direct-X are current...  https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html

If possible, please share a project where this occurs and someone will check it out.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...

  •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
  •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
  •     Get link --- Get a public link.  If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
  •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

          *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

Hi, I can't see it in preview and/or have managed to edit out what is visible but it is there in exporting.

Source video is 4K, export setting is YouTube Vertical video 9:16

I use a MAC Pro - not sure how to look up if driver is current, but I have all settings current and at latest version.

Also, my screen does not show menu - I get save project file as...is that ok?

I'll send the link privately.

Apologies, I'm not very tech savvy..

No, Save Project File AS pertains to this...

Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.  From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.  That's your protection.

What's needed here is the folder created when Back Up Project Files to a Folder OR Save Portable Project AS is used.  In the Windows version those items are here...

That creates a number folder.  Upload that folder as instructed above.

Also, be sure that you are using the current Videopad release...   https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

You should have that option on a MAC, though it may be in a different place.

To attach a link to a image file upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

Your 'test.mp4' file has arrived, with some pixelation.   But that appears to be the Videopad exported file.  What's needed is the project - exactly what you see on the timeline prior to export.

Please upload the project folder as described earlier.

Don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone can view" in Google  Drive.
