How do I get rid of moving blue lines and other set up problems

I downloaded the new 9.27 Photopad and when I opened it, I get the usual dark gray screen, but there are moving blue horizontal and vertical lines that are VERY irritating.  There are numbers at the top and left side.  I don't want either the blue lines or the numbers.  

On the bottom where there used to be a + and - so one could zoom in on the picture, there is nothing.  I want the + and - back.

What do I do?  How do I get rid of the blue lines?  I can't find anything online or on the tutorials to show me.

To hide the ruler and ruler guides, click Menu > View > Rulers > uncheck Show Rulers > click OK to save the changes.

Please use these key combinations to zoom in/out:

Zoom In: Ctrl +

Zoom Out: Ctrl -
