simonsays
Hello, Is there a way in videopad to crop out a portion of a video without paddings? I have a 1980x1080 video (16:9) and I would like to cut out a rectangular area from the middle (5:4). I use "Crop" effect and select "Crop and Zoom" in "Widescreen Fit" on export yet it still adds paddings to the left and to the right.
borate
Use ZOOM with the 16:9 A/R preset to fill the entire 16:9 screen with the cropped image. Or SCALE it up as desired.
simonsays
So, do I understand correctly that there is no possibility to change the aspect ratio of an eventual video? From 16:9 to 5:4?
borate
There are numerous export choices, including 'custom' that you can specify... And in the ZOOM effects box, click the preset drop-down menu to see the many A/R options. One is 5:4. If either doesn't do the job for you, come back here. simonsays
Fiddling around with auto-match content eventually did the trick for me. And *zoom* effect proved to be more useful than *crop* Thanks!
