2 bugs in video pad

During editing today I found out two bugs in videopad. Demonstrated in the video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFuUGp3No-c

1. The first problem is when I paste an image clip to the video, it doesn't paste accurately on the exact frame my play head was on, but sometimes 1 frame later. I had to nudge it back to where the play head was after the paste to make sure it was at the right frame.

2. The second problem is when I try to adjust the position of the image clip, the clip preview does not update with the clip I highlighted but stuck with the former clip I adjusted. The workaround was to click on empty space first, and then click on the clip I want to update, to make sure clip preview is playing on the highlighted one. Without clicking on empty space first, the click preview always stuck at the former edited one.

Tested both scenarios extensively and could not replicate either.  #1 was always dead-on and #2 did not require a click in an open area.

For #1, don't paste.  That's usually not accurate.

Instead, toggle the frame buttons (or arrows) to the desired frame, then right-click the bin clip or click the chevron to the right of the ADD button...

OK, I'll use your method on placing the clip and see if it also helps positioning too! Thanks.

I tried the method of place / overlay at cursor and it still become 2 frames later than cursor. Same as pasting. Not a huge problem though.

Doesn't here, and it was tested at least two-dozen times.  Upload the video clip and overlay so it can be tested.

Better still, upload the project.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...

  •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
  •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
  •     Get link --- Get a public link.  If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
  •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

          *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
