Audio files get a boost in volume when I add them to videopad.

For some reason the audio gets louder when I add it on the VideoPad. I have set this option of "automatically normalize audio" unchecked, but it's still happening. Has anyone else had the same problem? It is a problem because the audio exceeds the 0 decibel barrier. All the audio clips get an amplify and a hard limit when I add them in VideoPad.

EDIT: Solved. The solution was:

Menu > Tools > Options > Media > Leave the two "automatically normalize audio" boxes unchecked. Then go to Disk > and Clear Unused Cache Files.  Restart VP. Thanks for the answer.
