addressed Transitions make the rendered video freeze for a brief moment

When trying to apply a transition between two clips, the clips are made overlap with each other

Video clip transitioning is set to "Ask me", but I'm given no prompt.

Attempted a reinstall, didn't help.

Edit: I've noticed that those freezes only occur in the rendered video when "Fade through white" is used, in clips where I used a "Cross Fade", "Blur" and "Fade through Black" transition, the clips change smoothly.

Transitions apply only to adjacent clips on the same track.  If there is sufficient excess video to cover the transition on both the FROM and TO clips at the cut point then there will be no prompt, and there should be no freeze.  'Excess' is the video that's not being used on the sequence.

To fade from track 1 to track 2, overlap the tracks and apply the f fade to the upper track.

Use the latest version.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

Not seeing an issue here with fade through white.

Now that I've tried using the same effect on a different video with two random clips, it worked fine. I think something might have messed up when I was editing the video where I encountered the issue, one of the clips might have been too short. Either way it should be ok now. Thanks
