error returned: not acceptable here

sometimes I get this message -"error returned: not acceptable here" although the sip number I am trying to contact is a valid number. What could be the explanation for this? I would appreciate some help here. Thanks. TonyTinsay

the other side has rejected the call, possibly because it wasn't passed a choice of codecs that it liked. you'll have to find out what codecs the other sides wants. on our end we support GSM, G.711u, G.711a and G.726-32.

 

"temporarily unavailable" means that contact number has gone offline just recently.
