Text not appearing when exporting iphone video

Hi all,

I just purchased the software and created 2 short "home videos" with the software so far.  The first, I used a gopro for the video clips.  Everything worked fine.  The 2nd, I used only my iphone, and have come to realize that filming vertically creates a "skinny" video.   But what I'm also finding an issue with, is even after adding text overlay on top of this video, the text, and entire video, seems to "shrink" into the width of the iphone video.  However, within the actual project, it shows the way i want it to, and has the text extend into the black boarders.   (note, the text is the layer above the video within the project)

Also -  the video I actually did film horizontally, so that the video should show normal size, also appears "skinny" when I export it... but appears fine in the project.

I've tried exporting directly to Youtube (1080) , and also to Google drive (720).   Can anyone help this extreme beginner?

1) the first scene shows the text issue.  It should state - "Breckenridge 2019".    2)  at 3:21 shows the horizontal video that's "skinny" after export  --->  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GwEF01oYWS0OVd0JYExviX5v5SS47WZF/view?usp=sharing

HI Borate -- thanks so much for responding.   As instructed, please find the shareable link below.    Within the very first scene, you can see how "Breckenridge 2019" overlays the iphone video and into the black borders.  But whenever I export it, the overlay seems to disappear and only the letters within the width of the iphone video remain.   The other text overlays I have in the video also run into this problem.

At 3:13 I have an iphone video clip I took horizontally -- which when playing within the project, fills up the full screen.  But when I export it, this again shrinks down to only the size of the vertical video.   The aspect ratio of this clip is 16:9.

Finally - I've tried exporting this straight to youtube in 1080, 720, 16:9 vertical, as well as straight to google drive, with 1080, 720, mp4 and mov, letterbox, and crop and zoom, ,and finally, 1024 TV wide -- and nothing works.  I also tried editing just the first video clip of the project into a 16:9 ratio, thinking maybe that would work to "trick" the export into the right width.  That didn't work either.  I also added an additional layer of just black background thinking that too could trick the export into the right width, and of course that didn't work either.   Really hope you can assist.   Thanks again for your time!

Borate - thanks again.   I don't understand why it works for you but not for me.  I checked my settings in both Youtube and Google drive, and don't see any options to adjust the ratio or zoom.  I know I'm exporting it correctly so it doesn't make sense to me.   For whatever reason, it seems both players are adjusting to the width of the iphone video and not the width of the actual project.

I do appreciate you providing me the export for download.  I'm just concerned about running into this issue again with my next video.

In lieu of using direct upload from VP, did you create a video file with the above settings and then use YouTube's uploader, as suggested earlier?

Viewed my video export made with the above settings in Windows Media Player, the MPC-HC,  Google Drive and the MS OneDrive players.  Looked correct in all.

Your https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GwEF01oYWS0OVd0JYExviX5v5SS47WZF/view?usp=sharing does not and I am at a loss to say why some users are experiencing this.

Test with the latest version.
