IVM detects a call and then answers nothing

When I get a call the operation goes like this (from the Log)

(ring)

12:05:18 Line 1 Unknown (answered)

12:05:18 Call disconnected

 

(second ring)

12:06:18 Line 1 Unknown (answered)

12:06:18 Call disconnected

 

etc.

 

I appears that IVM thinks it answers the call but it does not. The call is not answered allthough it detects a call is incoming.

 

I have US Robotics Sportster Winmodem 33600 & x2 56K

I have the same issue using a Netcomm Inmodem 5699_5 with v8.18 drivers; it detects the call but does not answer it.

 

Similar error message "Line 1 Unknown (unanswered)".

 

Using Telstra in Australia.

 

Advice please.

Funny but I have (answered) as if it did answer. But I hear nothing on the phone.
