Inserting parts of a clip to another

Hello, I would like to know how to cut a part of an exsisting clip and put it another.

Example: You cut out Han Solo running, from a Star Wars clip and put it in a clip from Stockholm marathon clip so it looks like Han Solo is running a marathon.

Another example: You cut out the mouth of a newsreader and put it on an animated character in synchovox style.

Let me rephrase that. I want to cut the character of Han Solo from a Star Wars clip, add him to the Stokholm Marathon clip so it looks like he is participating it, like: Han Solo is running in the foreground while you marathon Runners and the track in the background so it looks like Han is actually in it.

What you meant is having different clips after the other: first a cut of Han Solo running and then having the marathon cut, which is not what wanted. Have I made myself clear here?

VideoPad provides effect masking tool for doing something like this. You can try Effect Mask + Transparency Effect.

 

However it would be too difficult to cut complex shapes like a human. Also, it is much easier if the object don't change it's shape.

 

Edit: You can also try "Green Screen" effect if the object you want to cut out stand out from the background.
