ruud1boy
Hi all - I've got shedloads of footage from a video camera that I'm finally getting around to editing down and trying to record to a DVD, however without much success so far. I'm using v.2.41 and am burning (?) the project to DVD on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1750), which as far as I know can record to either DVD+ or DVD-. I've tried creating DVDs in both formats, which has been partially successful in that the finished DVDs will play on my laptop, but not on my DVD player (Panasonic S27). Can anyone offer any suggestions as to where I might be going wrong, or any other ideas of how to create a disc I can play on my DVD player? All suggestions gratefully received, thanks in anticipation.
Nationalsolo
Hi Do your DVDs play on any other manufacturers player. Nat
ruud1boy
I've tried it on my Dad's, which is also a Panasonic machine, and it plays OK on that. Panasonic are telling me my DVD player won't play stuff recorded onto rewritable media, so I'm making some progress. Thanks for your help.
Nationalsolo
Hi "Panasonic are telling me my DVD player won't play stuff recorded onto rewritable media, so I'm making some progress." You are correct...The following is from the s27 user manual.. Discs that cannot be played DVD-Audio, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, CDV, CD-G, DVDiR, iRW, DVD-RW, SACD, Divx Video Discs and Photo CD, DVD-RAM that cannot be removed from their cartridge, 2.6-GB and 5.2-GB DVD-RAM, and “Chaoji VCD” available on the market including CVD, DVCD and SVCD that do not conform to IEC62107. There are also some limitations using CD-R and CD-RW discs as well And it seems that DVD-R discs might only play if their contents are finalised on Panasonic equiment . Looks like a new DVD player might be in order. Nat
