goal: use Windows XP for ordinary work entirely from a user account, not priviledged

(keeps down potential for system being zapped if encounter a virus / trojan / system bug)

background: i had to use the system Admin account to transfer an MP3 file from a network/

Tje file was stored on a temp directory, and XP listed it as owned by the Administrator.

Switched to a Regular (non-priv) account.

Used WavePad to edit the MP3 file.

clicked "file save"

the contents of the file did not change

It is correct that the file should remain the same

The bug is that WavePad should report a file I/O error somewhere,

as the user believes the file has been updated on disk when it has not.
