Autosave Freezes Videopad

Hi all,

 

When using videopad I can open the program. As soon as I perform an action - import media etc - videopad tries to autosave. At this point it will hang without fail, everytime. It has done this since it was installed.

 

I have tried using different video formats incase it was having trouble handling an avi / mpeg etc, but it is format independent

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all codecs - makes no difference

WMM works fine

 

I'm using a new i7 thinkpad 8GB ram - so it's not a resource problem

 

The problem always occurs during autosave

 

Any ideas what could be causing this and how to resolve it?

It's quite debilitating because I can't use the software at all.

I have still not resolved this problem but I have now found that exactly the same problem occurs with photostage.

Two different programs, same problem.

 

Runs fine on my i5, but not on my i7.

 

I'm wondering if it's a machine setup problem. I've tried reinstalling video codecs but that didn't help - any other ideas on what I can try turning on or off / reinstalling / updating to try and get these two programs working?
