Foot pedal in v. 4.30

I'm using version 4.30 and have an Infinity IN-USB-1 foot pedal. No matter how high I set the Step (ms) rewind, my dictation does not back up when I remove my foot from the Play button. I can't figure out any other way to set this. I've tried rerunning the foot pedal wizard, nothing changes.

 

I know 4.30 is an old version, but it works for me and I seem to read about so many other problems with newer versions, especially with foot pedals. Any suggestions on newer versions that might solve my problems without creating new ones? I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Vostro 400, Word 2010.
