I am trying to convert wma files to mp3. the resulting mp3 files are poor quality - sounds like there are skips in the music. What am I doing wrong?

unfortunately with wma, if it doesn't work there isn't much else we can do. We are using Microsoft DirectX to decode the file, we are not using some sort of custom-built plugin.

maybe check to see if you have the latest DirectX? The latest is version 9.0c.

i found a solution to the problem. ^_^ if you have itunes, have it convert the file to an .aac (you can use switch, but you risk getting more skips in the music) file, then convert the .aac file to an .mp3.
