Can you choose your own order number?

Is it possible to set the order number to whatever i choose as it seems to be set to 10000 then 10001 for the next invoice i create and so on?

I know this may be an old request and an answer may no longer be needed by you.

 

But I think we should all try to answer any questions we can and make this forum more useful to anyone in the future who may have the same question.

 

The answer is Yes you can.

 

Select Options

Then click on the Order tab

 

You'll see two relevant lines for your query.

Order Number: if you set a number here that's the first number your invoices will start at.

And

Number Prefix (optional): If you set a number here all your invoices will start with that number.

There seems to be no way to put your own hardcopy invoice numbers on your Express Invoice invoices. Yeah, you can start anywhere but you go on from there. If you have to void a hard copy invoice, that screws it up. If you have three different employees using different sequences of invoice book numbers, you're screwed.
