  1. Hi. I'm new to WavePad and to MP3/WAV file editing and playback in general. I recently used WavePad to mix two files I downloaded from freesound.org. It was fun learning how to use WavePad to tailor and mix copies of these files into something that sounded pretty cool. The mixed file played fine on WavePad and on Windows Media Player. I bought a Flyrontech FN-BC04 MP3/WAV player/amp module from electronics123 and carefully followed the manufacturer's instructions to copy the .wav file I derived along with a few other .wav and .mp3 files from freesound.org onto a micro-SD card. I also created a simple read.cfg file to tell the FN-BC04 which of its playback modes I wanted to use. I inserted the micro-SD card into the FN-BC04. The FN-BC04 responded as intended to the read.cfg file, but it incorrectly assigned the four sound files to their corresponding switch closures. Not a big deal. However, the only sound file which the FN-BC04 couldn't play correctly was the one .wav file I derived using WavePad. Attempts to play this file resulted in horrible, loud screeches and chirps which sounded like they could damage my loudspeaker. I then opened that same file on the micro-SD card using Windows Media Player, and it played back fine again. It seems like there's some sort of file structure incompatibility between my WavePad output file and the FN-BC04. Perhaps I'm ignorant of how to use sound file parameters to select compatible sound files which will mix correctly, but why would WavePad and Windows Media Player handle the file okay? I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to what I may be doing incorrectly and how to fix it. Thanks!
  2. Hi. I’m a novice WavePad user. As a learning exercise I was attempting to create the sound of bubbling water in a pot on my iPhone by stringing several copies of a single bubble from the sound library together, selecting all, and then trimming the silences through the entire assembled sequence. As far as I can tell, no change occurred regardless of changes I made to the silence threshold. Perhaps I should have used the Join function? I then tried to trim silences from a single instance of a water splash sound from the library. While I could see that some silence had been trimmed toward the end of the sound, clearly silence remained at the beginning and end of the sound. Several attempts using different silence threshold settings achieved the same result. Any advice regarding what I’m doing incorrectly would be appreciated. Thanks!
