I use Express Scribe for dictation that comes to me with a DSS extension and they load automatically into ES. I am now received files with the extension WMA and they load straight into Windows Media Player for which I do not have a foot pedal. How do I make these files load into Express Scribe. Any suggestions would be very welcome as I am waiting to transcribe them and do not know how.
From in ExpressScribe, click the load button then locate the file you want to load using the Browse for Folder, select the file and click the load button, this will load the files for you.

Upgraded to v1.24 but m4a files still do not convert. The add says it handles m4a files. Help!!!!
Are you running Switch on PC or MAC? The MAC version does not support these files.

I recently installed IVM ver. 4.0.3. I can't get it to show in the system tray.
Any ideas?

Make sure that you have not selected "Start before logon - Do not show icon" selected from the drop down list in the general options under "Run IVM automatically as tray icon on system startup" as this will cause the icon not to display when the program is running.

When the next software upgrade/change takes place, I'd like to suggest that you include a feature to add ones own notes. I would like to add a note next to an uploaded file to remind me when it needs to be completed by, at the moment you only have the option to add notes about time, sender's name etc. Thanks. You are already able to make customised notes for your uploaded files, simply click in the notes field and type the information that you want added. You may need to resize the notes portion of the window but this is easily done, move your cursor to the double line at the top of the notes area (below the horizontal scroll bar) and the cursor will change to a double line with and up and down arrow. Click and drag this line so that the notes window is the desired size.

Although I was able to use Switch to convert some .DSS files to .WAV earlier, I can't seem to do it any more. It worked approximately 10 times (I was experimenting with various codecs) but now it comes back with an error every time.
The Extended information simply states "The creation of the output file failed." It creates a 1kb file (which plays nothing) and I'm stuck from there.
I have tried different directories. The permissions should not be an issue since I was able to create several files earlier. Any ideas on this?
Is is possible that the files you are getting this error on are Copyright protected?

I purchased switch as I needed to convert mp3s to m4a's on a Mac - I've found that you can only do this on a PC - when will you be updating the mac version to encompass this feature?
Matt
This will most likely be added to the next realease of Switch Sound Converter for Mac but at this stage we have no release date.

Hello everybody. Can I use unlicensed free version at my work? As I radio DJ I need to edit interviews from time to time. Nothing fancy just basic stuff, cutting, dividing etc.
You may use the free version of WavePad at home or at work. It is up to you where you use it we do not limits its use in any way.

It is possible that it is Windows 98 that is causing this issue, but as i dont currently have access to a 98 machine i cannot test this.
