Is anyone able to losslesly join or cut the above mp4 in Videopad?
-
Ok, so this is avc (non-hevc1). Would someone be able to have a go at either joing in together with itself 3 or so times or splitting it in half, losslessly. I just cannot get it working. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KkSXtwHmrzeTWrBH_EG2ec_tMW7JYPAS
-
That's a good point. I've only turned hvc1 on recently but none of my old files work either, nor do my sisters nexus 5x mp4s which are avc I'd assume

Here's a sample clip from my Pixel 3 shooting 1080p 30.06fps (sorry it's in portrait only one I have to hand) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Clid5gk6tmZuWvqwwih7ZBdcLJSejfEs I've tried joining this with itself say 3 times or editing out one second of video and I still can't get lossless export, it always transcodes despite trying every setting I can think of, uninstalling, resetting, etc. What am I doing wrong?
-
So I have to manually reduce the 30fps to 29.97 (I'm in uk) for lossless to work? This can't be right
-
It's all standard on pixel-30 it says but thinks its 29.something. Shouldn't matter though if lossless?
-
Yes I have. However, I'm still getting a whole lot of re-encoding happening. For example, I take two 10 second clips on my pixel 3 at 1080p 30fps, drop them into VideoPad, put them on the timeline next to each other, and export as lossless - the whole clip is now transcoded. What exactly am I supposed to do to get it working losslessly?
-
Hi, Years ago I was asking about proper lossless mp4 and m2ts support for export in original formats. Now I see it supports lossless export in other formats, but still I am unable to simply edit together/cut two mp4 files from a Pixel 3 phone and save/export them losslessly without re-encoding, which isnt lossless. Will true lossless support ever happen?

Great! Anywhere I can follow progress of this along?

Thanks for info. I like to run apps in portable mode as switch systems a fair bit, I'll try cooying the install folder and see if it works
-
Any news on this, guys? The Final feature I'm looking for
-
Hi, I see this app is available on portableapps.com (which may or may not be legit for you guys) and I was wondering if you could release a portable version which doesn't need installing?
-
I had exactly this issue, which was resolved on a different computer, and actually works on my problematic pc too. Have oyu tried the latest version (assume yes) and have you been sent a debugging version? I had great support from the NCH team, and after emailing logs over the issue seemed to fix. Checked out my threads on this? TBH without a log it's difficult to help

Any chance we could get .ts/.m2ts lossless editing in VideoPad? That would be perfect for me! I've used a few free lossless cutters/joiners but they're in no way comparable to VP; it's certainly doable, and I think using open source libs. Any change of this, guys? I've uploaded a sample file I'm working with for video stream info at https://www.dropbox.com/s/499she43v0kkggv/20120313_150418.m2ts?dl=0

Lossless export, hoorah! The final piece in the Nexus 5x video editing puzzle
-
Wow, great, thanks, looking forward to it!

I'm pretty tech savvy, but their team is awesome. Support via email for me has been fantastic, no doubt they know what they're doing. It's just a shame that with these few kinks to iron out they're missing out on leading the market and killing..offering. I see you're on a mac; I don't have one, but for me the issue went by using a different computer. You could try installing Parallels or something and run Windows, this could work. Or another machine? Which version are you on? 5.03 I think worked for me, once, but not losslessly. If you can get hold of one of the staff members they may be able to send you a logging/debugging version which will show what#s happening when it fails. Finally, ffmpeg is the open standard for video editing codec-wise, and it does lossless cutting/joining - via command line or if you can find an app with an interface - something to look in to?

It's a colossal pile of cr@p, I found. I tried opencut, shotcut, so many get so close; there's several free utils which can losslessly join and cut mp4 files but no 'suite' like Videopad for doing a project or something with more than one clip at a time. I just don't see how the nch team haven't/can't implement this so easily. You can literally get it to work with 'copy /b *.mp4 out.mp4' then just find it though a fixer like mkvtoolnix

Would that license apply to the exporting mp4 fails I've reported, or the lossless mp4 exporting for me?
-
Would like to know, too. I've tried sooo many apps, surely there's a market for home users wanting to simply cut and join losslessly mp4 files from smartphones?

lossless mp4 failed: unknown error, downloads x264enc7

5.03 still having this exact issue :/ -
Tried all this, still getting the exact same error on 5.03
-
Great, thanks so much again! Killer app once this is fixed - I've literally spent days looking into this, tried nearly 20 programs, and none do this!
-
Again, thanks! Clip meets all conditions, I've tried adding the same clip in twice, even just once in it's own, and it's h264 as per sample uploaded, but it still exports lossy :/
-
Great! Well I tried editing/exporting losslesspy with it enabled and on these files, which are h264 (avc is h264) but no luck. Am I doing it wrong or is this h264 file not supported?
