Hi I have express talk installed and have registered with Draytel.org as my sip. I think if you have express talk installed click on settings, then click on lines, here from the top, Friendly Name harry or whatever name you choose,next down is sip No 6657700, Server is next inphonex.com. Then I went into the Network page along side and at the bottom of the page clicked on the " Run network setup wizard " botton and it set itself up automatically. My user no is 865585@draytel.org perhaps if you get it working you could give me a call as I have been looking for contacts with messages on the forum in several places but no response I am thinking of uninstalling the Express talk as there is no one to talk to, I am in England. Hi there I am sorry to butt in on your page, I do not have a solution for your problem, but you seem to be contacting people and I am trying to find someone who can call me so as to test my setup also for contacts in other parts of the world I live in England. I already have an sip account with Draytel.org and my address is " 865585@draytel.org " this is the registered address they have given me is this enough to go PC to PC or do you use the actual " sip number " or the " public IP " or " private IP ", this looks like a brilliant program I just need to get my head round it, but so far I have not been able to try it out. Now I assume that if someone types that address ( whichever it is ) into their Express talk in the top address slot and calls me it should connect and ring at my end and this would be a free call. Apparently anyone can call me and vice-versa with any sip address. I know also that Draytel do cheap calls from where I am England to Australia for 1p per minute paid up front i.e. £10 or £20 credit, but it is nicer for free !!!! I am a newbee and have an sip " Draytel " I would like to test my setup I wondered if anyone would be interested in a contact setup where several people Male or Female could contact PC to PC. I am in England and would like to contact people in other countries. I hope there is someone more Knowledgeable than me, on the PC to PC workings. I look forward to any replies from Male or Female. I see you are a newbee so am I but perhaps you can tell me how I can get to contact other Express talk users I am in Kent England and it would be good to contact people in other parts of the world being as it is FREE, also I would like to see if my sip works, it seems pointless have this software and not being able to use it, is there a place where you can find other people using the same system/program. Hi Please can you help. I have recently installed Express talk plus registered with BBglobal as my SIP, I have tried to work out the instructions below but cannot get my head round it, the last paragraph in particular (*)where a name is used instead of the SIP number they supply. Perhaps if you could possibly tell me how your Express talk is set up I might understand, it is obviously registering OK as it shows in the black status panel at the bottom. Paragraph from Exprees Talk Help: IP address dialling is where you can call another party using their IP address. The advantage to this is that neither yourself nor the person you are calling are required to sign up with a SIP provider, nor do you need to use the Axon PBX software. The disadvantage is that you need to know the IP address of the other party, and it may cause frustration dialling externally if the other end is using a dynamic external IP address. Additionally, you won't be able to call people using proper SIP or Axon numbers using an IP dialling-configured line. To setup Express Talk for IP dialling, nominate a line to use and then configure its setting as follows: Full 'Friendly' Display Name: anything SIP number: anything (not blank) Server: leave blank Password: leave blank (*) To use IP dialling to call someone else, first check to ensure that the other party has also configured a line as explained above. To call them, use the format [username]@[iP address] where [username] is whatever they have used as their "SIP Number", and [iP address] is their internal or external IP address (if they are on the same network as you, you can use their internal address). Examples of IP dialled numbers are 'joe@69.56.23.57' and 'bill@192.168.0.201'.
