Large project takes forever to load. Can anything speed this up? I'm talking about hundred of video clips, like over 5 hours of video,etc... I see from task manager that many hard drives are at 100% and computer almost comes to a complete freeze whenever I load the file. Is there anyway to get the software to save all these temp files I assuming it's busy creating instead of recreating them from scratch? Thanks.

Hello. I have created a video using clips which were only 480P. I recently acquired the identical video clips in 720P and was wondering if there was a way to swap the files? They are exactly the same except one is higher quality than the other. Please let me know if there is a way to do this? Thanks.

Timeline sequence filled with black/white checkered pattern. Normally this might happen when the video is loading but after waiting an hour, its still there on almost every clip. Please advice on what is going on here and how I can fix this? https://i.imgur.com/K1tA7uB.png Thanks.

Video clip sound like tin when added to sequence howver sound normal when playing the clip outside of videopad as well as in the general " clip preview" in videopad. The problem only happens when its added to the sequence. Any idea why this happens or how to fix? Thanks.

I think I solved this problem but it may be a bug in the software. There was no gap there as the picture indicated but rather the clip was larger then the gap but invisible. I was able to grab the entire clip by like highlighting everything and somehow was able move it outside the sequence in order to continue editing. I think during the process of unlinked the audio file and moving things around and closing gaps on both the picture and audio, somehow this problem happen. I have experienced this same problem in the past but was never able to fix it before. Is there a way to get the message to the developers to make they aware of the issue? Thanks.

Invisible video on "video track 1"(looks like gap in timeline) however its displayed on Sequence preview. Is this a known bug in the software? I have what appears to be a gap in the timeline however when I click on the space to select the "close gap" option because the gap is not really there. I can see the video in the sequence preview however the corresponding placement on the video track 1 shows an empty gap. So this is some kind of bug or something? My problem is showing up in the output file as well. I can send you an example if you would like. Perhaps this might be a different issue then the one you are talking about? Are there any settings reset I can try to fix this? Any idea what exactly this is? Thanks.

Vertical Green bars on the ride side? How do I remove these? What are they? These green bars do not appear on the video source file when played outside of videopad. However, both the sequence and the clip preview show this green bar. https://i.imgur.com/2KtS6Nf.jpg

I was under the impression this was a free non-commercial version of the software not a 30-day trial on the software. I don't think I read anything that said 30 days nor did I see any countdown message. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/free.html "A free version of VideoPad is available for non-commercial use only." Could the software have mistakenly taken my non-commercial home use as commercial because I leave the software open all night? If they are taking what is suppose to be a free software and then randomly disabling it to hold your video projects hostage, this would be very questionable bait and switch.

Videopad Free edition asking me to upgrade to export (create) video in MP4 format. I swear I have made video before without asking me to upgrade. Is this something new or is it not working right? Thanks.

Videopad keeps overwriting existing video when clip inserted into sequence. It appears that doing the exact same thing will yield completely different results. Sometimes I will hold " SHIFT" as instructed to stop " snapping" which I assume means overwriting the video on the timeline with the clip. Sometimes it seem to insert the clip and shift the existing video to make room for it. Other times, it appears to overwrite(delete) the video on the timeline and replacing it with the video on the inserted clip. I can't get this software to act consistently. What am I missing here? Is there a trick to this or is the software just buggy and temperamental? This is some of the most basic video editing and should be something they get right above all else. Thanks.

Thank you for the response on mitigating the possibility of deleting the entire project by clicking slightly too fast on that line. Do you know if the developers are aware of this issue and if so, are they working on a permanent solution such as an option to turn it off? So you are saying that if I uninstall and reinstall from the identical file over and over again, its so called " feature" acts different each time I install? Thanks.

Hello. When I click on the timeline a menu pops up which has a scissor, set start time to position set end time to position icons. During the process of trying to hunt down a position in the timeline, if you click too quickly, it will end up ruining the entire project by clicking on one of these buttons. This popup menu was not present in the older versions of videopad and I have only noticed it in the newer version. Can anyone tell me how I can remove this popup menu from showing up? I am constantly ruining the video project by accidentally pressing it. Its almost like popup spam bombarding your screen on a website. There must be a way to turn this off? Thanks.

Videopad editor, rearranging clips in sequence is overwriting instead of inserting other clips. Is this a bug in the software or is there a way to fix this in the settings? I even make sure I have those arrows indicating they will move the current clip over and it still will overwrite it( delete/replace) the clip immediately after the newly placed clip. Thanks.

I imported a project from videopad 2.4.1 into a more modern version of videopad(4.3.0) There was only audio but no picture / video in the new videopad. There are also no preview and just had a message about standing by for preview. I render in both .MKV and MP4 and both have no video. Does 2.4.1 and the most current version render in different ways? Are the project made in the old videopad unable to be imported to the new videopad? Thanks.
