when i started a new project, the timeline was empty. 

then i added a clip.

now, when i try to delete items from timeline, i get

Solved:

Go to Edit menu > Delete clips in sequence. This leaves an empty sequence in the timeline.

the instructions you see when you try to install on Win 7/8 are incorrect. The instructions say Win 7/8 versions are available, but there are none.

after dragging this 4 MB clip to the timeline, the file plays very slow, and i cannot scroll the timeline to the right. There's no scrollbar.

i discovered my bug is fixed in version 2.23.

but you cannot get the 2.23 download until you report a bug in version 2.21. WHY?

the fling download link on the fling page is version 2.21, not 2.23. WHY?

the fling interface is blank, except for the toolbar and menubar, when run in the following conditions:

-logged into Windows as non-admin, running fling as NON-ADMIN

-logged into Windows as non-admin, running fling as ADMIN

fling looks FINE when logged into windows as ADMIN

what should i do?

hi, when i add a backup task, the Fling window remains blank.

when i try to set the service account to the admin account on this computer, Fling rejects it with "Unable to set the service account."

what should i do?

I'm running fling on windows vista home premium.

fling (free) worked perfectly on installation.

but, after changing some permissions settings, and installing your openssl, i now get:

"Unable To Start The Background Service"

i turned off ssl, and changed permissions back to local service account. but still getting "Unable To Start The Background Service".

what should i do?

ps, fling properties says "by default it runs on the local SYSTEM account", but fling permissions says "run on local SERVICE account". Is that the same thing? If not, is fling's verbiage incorrect?

is this a bug?

during playback of video in storyboard, if i click pause, the video does NOT pause on the frame currently in the preview pane.

instead, it jumps ahead many seconds, and pauses at a different point in the video.

i also notice that the video in the preview pane is several seconds behind the timeline position.

using a netbook with 1 Gig ram.

(VideoPad is the only free video editor i've found yet, which gives me real-time playback on a machine with limited memory, so i hope this can be fixed.)

is there a way to resize the preview panes?

i am on a netbook, and the preview panes are too tiny.

if they are not resizable, then NCH, please make them so.

i keep getting "Fling File Transfer Error" emails. Fling says

Unable to open file. Check you have set your service settings using Options to enable Network access

That doesn't make sense, because the files in question are local, not network files.

i noticed that 'LOCAL SERVICE' account has only 'Read' and 'Read and Execute' permissions on the files in question.

other times i get

Upload: F:\My File.eml FAILED
FTP: Opening BINARY mode data connection for My File.eml

what should i do?

Making progress. It's called "URL Encoding". I found a multi-line bidirectional encoder/decoder:

it can convert the entire vpj file in one click. i could then edit it, and then convert it back in one click.

cool! now, next step is to make an html front-end, with text-boxes, to allow my users only to edit the correct text, and prevent them from making changes to other text.

great suggestion! but not practical for my need.

i want to distribute a partially prepared vpj file, containing title screens, to many people, so that they can add their own video, and create the movie.

ideally, i'd like to create the ready-vpj file using my video clips, and then let my members replace my video with their video, but keep my title screens.

the goal is to simplify their tasks, and eliminate redundancy.

if there was some simple quick way to create a simple 1-page gui, for editing the vpj file.

since installing vista sp1, i get no Fling icon in system tray ("notification area"), and i get no popups on successful ftp uploads.

but i know Fling is working, because when i open Fling from the Start menu, i see the log of successful activity.

how can i get Icon and popups back?

i'm getting "The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost" when i try to connect to the broadcam stream on the same computer.

i confirmed that windows firewall is allowing broadcam on port 86.

media player displays the NCH logo, but video is black.

Meo encryption not working with FileFort. I have Meo installed, but whenever i try to perform an ftp backup job with Meo encryption, it fails.

Regular, non-encrypted backups work fine.

I tried launching Meo, so it's running when I start FileFort, but that did not help.

Using Windows Vista.
