Anyone know what might be going wrong when I try to use the Leopard Finder to copy a folder of mp3 audio files from my Mac (Leopard) to an Olympus mp3 Player that uses MS-DOS (FAT16) format? Drag and Drop?
(Its an Olympus WS-300M).
I created the mp3s using Switch, on a Mac under Leopard 10.5.4 ... CD type AIFFs to 256 bitrate mp3s.
Did something change in Leopard from Panther that might affect this? I thought things were working in my Panther usage.
The files get copied, but they are in the wrong order ... 09, 08,07, 06 etc ... instead of 01,02,03, 04 ...
Is it because I'm using filenames longer than 8.3 characters or whatever the limit use to be? Each begins with a 2 digit file number, ordered like I want to have them end up ...
Any utilities that emulate Windows Media Player 11 (Windows version) that allows copying mp3 files to a Player? WMP 9 is really nothing more than a Player.
iTunes allows dragging the files, but they end up in the wrong order (maybe uses Finder copy?).
Does Songbird (if I could get a stable copy) allow this kind of Uploading of mp3's from a Mac 10.5 machine to a MS-DOS mp3 Player?
Can SWITCH help by renaming my files for me? or forcing the same structure on my device, using it to move my files?
Stumped.
