  1. no problem at all. it can be a right pain when certain programs 'over-ride' settings you've previously made regarding file types.
  2. open wavepad, then select file>options.under 'audio processing' try selecting your sound card.if 'default sound out' is selected, then try one of the others listed.
  3. possibly a silly question: can you right click the file>open with>choose program.then select real player from the list? if you cant do that try this: go into realplayer.choose tools>preferences>media types.then select.scroll down the list until you find WAV and then check the box. then see if the file will play (the WAV file should now have the real player icon).if it isn't,do what i suggested in the first question.if real player is now an option in the list, also check the box 'always open with this program'. remember to 'apply' any options you make.
  4. you should be able to record using windows record mixer.in the recording control box, there should be listed some options: cd audio, microphone, wave out mix. tick the box wave out mix (adjust the slider to increase the volume if necessary).
  5. the vast majority of people using this program will be working with files (mp3's,wma's etc...) already on their computer.so this feature is really,in my opinion, not much use at all. i have absolutely no cd's in my collection which have vocals on one channel and music on the other channel.
  6. it must be a clunky way to do it. although i dont use this program for what this topic is about,i'm just trying to do what nchdc has suggested. i cant even see how to turn the volume for left or right channel to zero.
  7. i am using wavepad v3.05. i cannot see a way to seperate the left and right channels so that you have 2 separate audio tracks.
  8. if you are wanting to record from the tascam (via one of the inputs on this tascam i presume): connect it to a usb port.then open wavepad.then click tools>wavepad options.now in the options window click 'audio processing'.under 'sound play device',click the down arrow on the device tab.if you device is listed select it by clicking on it.then click ok. you should, hopefully,be able to record from it.
  9. even if you select a portion of the track, the feature 'reduce vocals' doesnt work. all other effects to work-it's only that one that doesn't. (i've tried it by selecting part of a vocal, and nothing happens when the special effect is chosen).
  10. you can contact technical support by sending them an online e-mail here: http://nch.com.au/switch/support.html
  11. note about removing vocals: this feature assumes vocals are recorded in mono.but anything in mono (or the centre channel) is extracted.this filter is usually optimised for male and female vocals, but instruments can disappear too.solo vocals are usually recorded in mono.but stereo reverb may be added-the remove vocals feature cannot remove the stereo reverb (or stereo echo).anything off centre (symbol on the left,or tambourine on the right for example) will remain.
  12. if you think the file might somehow have been deleted by accident, try scanning the drive with this free program and hopefully you'll be able to get it back: http://www.recuva.com/download
  13. if the format you are converting is in mono to start with, then you cannot convert it to proper stereo.
