I have uninstalled, reinstalled and tried a whole system reinstallation but mixpad continues to be unresponsive during exporting audio. I don't know what else to do. can anyone help?

Today my mixpad continually freezes/shows the waiting icon and I have been forced to quit and restart multiple times. I am no longer able to work with some saved projects as the program immediately freezes. I began a new project but every few minutes the circular icon appears and I have to wait for it to recommence. I don't know what might be causing the issue or how to resolve it so any help would be greatly appreciated.
