    Email on 4.03 bad

I just got an email announcing ver 4.03. But the link is bad. When I cut and paste the link, I can't find any information on what was changed in the release. href="http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html">http://www.nch.com.au/ivm/index.html Anyone know where to find the real upgrade information. NCH-spank who ever sent that email!
  2. I'm not sure I understand your exact issue, but here is what I did with ver 4.02. I downloaded and loaded the mbx1000.ivr from the Example IVR Scripts in the Help menu. I created "Mailbox 2001". I then changed the OGM to allow four digits and changed the maximum value to 2999. It wouldn't record my message until I recorded a greeting for some strange reason. Using simulator, I was then able to leave a message for mailbox 2001. I did not create mailboxes 21-2000 to get this to work. Am I missing something?
  3. I just started testing IVM 4.02, and will need the Enterprise version for all the OGMs I need to write. NCH is having a June "sale" where the price is $179.40. Is this the always on sale price or will it probably go up in July? I'm still in the testing phase until the first week in July, but don't want to end up paying more. Is the sale because a new version is on the horizon with an upgrade cost? Thanks.
  4. I tested with the audio card headset and it worked during simulation. But the file got corrupted again. In addition, the OGM script recording started playing even before the sound file had finished playing. Now the system gets stuck trying to record a message, probably because the sound file has become so corrupted-Windows media player reports that it can't play the file. There are some major problems with these sound files! I've used the system defaults for the type or recording to do. Is there an optimum (codec or whatever) that may get around this problem? If you want to hear the messed up sound file, call (831) 535-5870 (callcentric line), press 992271. This will only be messed up on 6/27 as a new file roles on each day (if I don't do it earlier so users can continue testing-but I'll backup the file). Try to record with option 2 and see what happens. You can call back and just press 72 to see how the same OGM works in a different folder.
  5. Doh! Thanks, sometimes it's hard to see a tree in a forest!

That is what I figured through testing (but there may be more to it), but the helps didn't help me figure it out. I want to read the script. That's why I write scripts. I can't read from notepad on the screen any better than I can in IVM while recording. I write lots of scripts and OGMs, shouldn't have to print them all, let's save a few trees! Why make the window modal? OK, where is the date shown? That was kinda my original question. I've set it in the settings>CID tab to flash, and I haven't disabled it in the settings>telephony>properties>options tab. Still doesn't work, at least that I can see. Where exactly does it flash? Thanks pythonpoole!
  7. Sound recording quality is surprisingly good using both channels of the DSL line for in and one VOIP call going out. OGM scripts are pretty chopped up though. That's because the download speed is so much faster than the upload speed. The real problem is that the sound file gets corrupted after a call, when previously it was OK. I suspect something in the append recording process is messing up the file. This could be a serious bug!!!
  8. Using IVM 4.02 trial. Where does one set the recording device used in the call simulator? I have two sound devices. IVM uses the USB camera mic when recording sound files in an OGM while record control uses the sound card in-line.

    Where post?

Does NCH publish their bug and fix/enhancement lists? Would save a lot of time to check there first!

I just started using IVM 4.02 three days ago. Here are some of the issues I've dealt with. I sent them in via the NCH support web pages. Anyone got ideas on how to deal with any of these? >>> 1) Allow installation on other than the c: drive (kept small only for system files). Same goes for added components. Allow some setting default options for where my application sub folders go too. I don’t want them all crammed in ‘all users’ on c: drive either. 2) Allow the same pull-down options for settings>telephony>voip properties>options>override out-going message.. as are allowed for the Default Answer OGM options on the main screen. This happens to OGMs that are in sub-folders. Why create an OGM just to get around this? 3) The prompt and help for 2 above don’t make a lot of sense. I’m using it to control inbound calls on certain lines to specific OGMs. Clean up the prompt and explain it better. 4) I have users calling in all day leaving messages (recording wav files) in one file (per OGM, of which there are many). They need a way to listen, rerecord or abort their message before it is committed to the file. Just like a mailbox message. Several people listen to that same message later, sometimes many times in the same day. They need a way to skip to the next message in the one file. I could use some forward, reverse, pause and similar playback options so I don’t have to tie up key responses with these basic playback needs. Keep them the same as the mailbox options! The mailbox options could be beefed up too, while you’re at it. I need a way to add recordings to the file in a last-in-first-out way. If you want to hear the application call (831) 535-5870 (this is a beta # so try it soon). 5) Several times, when a wav file is added to the daily file (see 3 above), the file gets corrupted. The volume gets louder, the sound seems to speed up and there is a lot of noise. This is in the whole recording, but often the previous recording is corrupted and the new recording is silent. Send me an email address to send the wav file to if you want to hear it. (Serious problem reported in a separate topic) 6) I write the script for an OGM and then voice record it. I can’t read long scripts while recording. This means I have to cut, paste, print and then read. What a pain! Some of my scripts are informational and quite large. 7) I clone a lot of OGMs. The scripts are often very similar. To keep them consistent, I have to cut-and-paste. Maybe you don’t need to delete the script, just gray it out until it is changed? 8) Often I move OGMs to new folders, as I get more organized. It would be nice to have a move option that fixed all the external references to that OGM. A little referential integrity maybe? 9) If there is a expiration date on the trial version, please show it in the help>about. I haven’t gotten to 14 days, so I don’t know if it really expires. 10) Some deleted OGMs keep coming back! I think an .ini file keeps getting built and that causes it to be listed in the OGM window. 11) I get lost when I’m down a few folder levels in OGMs. Please show the path somewhere, maybe in the title bar? 12) The box to “Flash caller ID…” is checked in the settings>CID tab. But nothing happens on VOIP calls. I can see the call in the transaction (?) window. Overall, I’m very impressed with this product. I found all the problems listed above in just one day of application building. >>>
  11. I'm running a trial version of IVM 4.02. I'm receiving calls over VOIP. Several OGMs record sound files. On several occasions, the sound file is OK, and the next appended recording messes up what was the original file. The appended portion is OK sometimes and silent others. The volume, speed and quality (noise added) are degraded to the point where they can't be understood. Anyone else had this problem? Didn't find it searching. I don't know where or how to add a sample sound file to this post, and I don't have a www server to put it on.

    Where post?

I see a topic that started in 2005 (topic 82), and it is marked "pinned". Are we still to put new version suggestions there? I'm running a trial version of 4.02.
  13. I see pinned before some topic titles. What does this mean? Is the discussion still open?
