Aileen Ireland
Hello, there, I have recently installed Express Scribe and am wondering if it is able to play files from Sony MD players. I have attached the MD player to the PC and I can see it in the pull-down menu, but no audio files are showing. Can anyone suggest how I can load MD files into Express Scribe? The software that came with the MD player does not allow you to transfer to anywhere except the hard drive. Thank you, Aileen
nchtj
I think you might be out of luck, those Sony files are likely to be in ATRAC format which no one but Sony can support.

What I have managed to do is to convert the Sony file using a program called HMdRenderer, it's a shareware program I found at: www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/himd From there you convert the file to mp3 format and then it can be loaded into ExpressScribe. I hope this helps anyone else out there.
