Loading Files from Sony MD Player

Hello, there,

 

I have recently installed Express Scribe and am wondering if it is able to play files from Sony MD players. I have attached the MD player to the PC and I can see it in the pull-down menu, but no audio files are showing. Can anyone suggest how I can load MD files into Express Scribe? The software that came with the MD player does not allow you to transfer to anywhere except the hard drive.

I think you might be out of luck, those Sony files are likely to be in ATRAC format which no one but Sony can support.

Success! What I have managed to do is to convert the Sony file using a program called HMdRenderer, it's a shareware program I found at: www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/himd

 

From there you convert the file to mp3 format and then it can be loaded into ExpressScribe.

 

I hope this helps anyone else out there.
