How to split the long project

Hi,

Is it possible to split the completed project into 2 separate parts/projects? The project gets too long, runs for about 42 min and contains dozens of video clips, photos, text and transitions. I'd be glad to split it and make 2 separate video files (mp4), but don't know how to do it. VideoPad version is 7.02, Windows 10.

Thanks.

One simple method for creating two exported files would be to delete half the project, then export it.

Reload the project and delete the other half, and export.  Always retain a back up of the entire project.

Another approach:  add a sequence by clicking the + sign to the right of the sequence e1 tab.  Move half the project to it.  Each sequence is exported independently.

OK, now how to divide the project to move half of it to the other sequence? In the mean time I'll try the simple method you suggested.

Thanks.

To move half to another sequence first split all tracks at the halfway point, using the SPLIT button.

Then select (highlight) all second-half tracks, audio and video.  One way to do that is to hold down the <ctrl> key and click on each clip.

Then press the <ctrl-C> keys on the keyboard simultaneously.  The will copy the clips.

Click the + sign to the right of the sequence 1 tab to add a blank sequence.

Press the <ctrl-V> keys on the keyboard simultaneously.  That will paste the clips that you copied, though they may appear on different tracks.

If you make a mistake simply press <ctrl-Z> or EDIT|UNDO on the menu bar, to go back.

Now you can export each track independently.
