I am just getting started with Express Dictate. I have a lot of wav files from a Palm Pilot-based dictation program that I use taking animal behavior data. I need to transcribe the wav files into Excel into a file that already has some info from a simultaneous datalogging program that tracks certain events, location of the animals, etc.

I need to flip back and forth between Excel and Express Dictate, and it's a bit of a bother. I thought I could make a universal hot-key that, after finishing in Excel would start the next loaded wav file in Express Dictate (without having to use the Mouse, click on the next file in Express Dictate, etc.

I am using a foot pedal (bought the bundle with software, pedal, headphones), and that would be even better, if I could program the left pedal to do that.

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you're just transcribing, not recording, then I think Express Scribe would be better for you than Express Dictate. And recent versions of Scribe do have the ability to jump to the previous or next dictation using foot pedal presses or system-wide hot-keys.
