I see that your post was done in July with no solution offered by anyone since, so we're probably up against a brick wall, but here is my tale. For 5 years, I had no trouble recording ANY streaming audio and external sources using the mic input, such as a cassette player, vcr, dvd player, etc , with the awesome Wavepad program using Windows XP. Since May '08 with Vista I haven't been able to record anything AT ALL! It's got to be a Vista issue, but I have no idea how to get around the problem. I have no problem editing files but I'd would be grateful to get any tips on how to solve this other problem. I'd buy the Masters Edition in a New York minute if I could actually record something from the web! Pruitt
Guest MichaelJee
Hello, Correct. MS changed the way they handle sound source, and drivers. Some cards are uneffaced, some aren’t. All I can recommend is making sure you have the most recent version of the drivers for your sound card. I subscribe to the view Vista isn’t a hardened OS and shouldn’t have been released. I certainly haven’t moved to it, I RELY on a rock solid machine for work and play. As you might be aware, there are rumours MS have given up on it, and are putting all the effort into Windows 7. You kids jumped ship to early M
