Call Hang Ups

We use the IVM with regular phone lines plugged in, for our customers to leave orders which we transcribe through Wavepad. Sometimes the orders are cut off for no apparent reason. I entended the pause time during the message in case the customers were waiting too long to speak their orders but that did not really work. I also changed the ms setting on the message "End of Call Tone Detection Settings" but it still is hanging up. Any ideas? Could it be the quality of the actual phone lines causing the hang ups?

What telephony/modem are you using? Does it hang up after a specific time or is it completely random? It may simply be a problem with the hardware, do you have another device which you could try?
