VideoPad Crashing and new update not working

Hi Folks I have been using VideoPad for years and making videos for YouTube under the name of Gochikku if you want to have a look-see. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnoUEtHHKILO3nCQOJ_ET2w

Anyway, I have just hit a brick wall with this problem. When I open VideoPad, the project I am working on always comes up as unsaved. But I can work on it as VideoPad has saved a copy. If I try to add another clip to the project, save it, or do anything to it, it crashes. A box appears to send a report to NCH with a link to an updated program version. So I click on this, download it, and click to run the program. Windows puts its usual Yes No box up so I click Yes. A little hourglass appears and then disappears.

I have turned off everything on Windows security and tried again. Still nothing! And Videopad still does not work. I have tried using an earlier version and nothing again. If nothing else works for you guys I will have to use the drastic version of removing VideoPad from my computer and reinstalling it. Then see where we go from there.

So any help before I do that would be great.

Reboot the PC.

No change?  Try an overinstall of this release.  For one-time licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

If the issue persists, use this free tool to uninstall Videopad.  Let it scan registry entries and delete those as well.  Then install the VP version linked above.

For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.  From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
