Poor quality of slide when exporting to a DVD slide show and the transitions are just black squares.

I am trying to burn a DVD in order to give it to a friend to watch on his player. I have made 8 different CD's and they all come out the same, transitions are a black screen and the pictures are blurry at best. I have been using the DVD disc under the export screen and come up with black transitions and poor resolution of the slides every time. I had read a thread about Video output set up and to set file format to mp4 and to choose option high quality. When I try using the Video Output Setup I can't put the slide show on a DVD disk. The output setting reverts to my C drive.

The program does a good job making a photo presentation but fails when converting to DVD.  No transitions, how can this be?

After exporting the file on your local computer, can you play the file as expected?
