Progressively worse on MAC - S O S

I'm using express Scribe on a Mac powerpc running OS x10.3. And on day one it ran great with the VEC USB footpedal. Over time days or weeks, it gets much slower. Pedal stops responding or is very "sticky" on rewind etc. Counter doesn't match real time no audio etc. I delete the Scribe Folder in Share and it seems to help a bit, but it is getting worse and worse. Have tried to delete folders using the done feature. But it is still getting worse to the point where I have to delete the "shared/scribe" folder on a weekly basis. It's almost as though a folder somewhere that I can't see is getting completely filled with a lot of audio files that are slowing the whole software down.

 

Please help - it's my only source of income and I'm missing deadlines.
