Insert blank slide and insert text

Recommended Posts

I am using version 10.94.  I am confused about adding a blank tab (and possibly text)

The manual when clicking add blank says"

"Once you have clicked one of these buttons, the Select Position For a New Slide dialog will appear. Your choices are:

  • Slider's position Adding blank slides to the slider's position in the project allows you to add slides in the middle of the slideshow. Blank slides in the middle of the show can be used to create breaks between scenes, or as a background for captions.
  • Beginning of the timeline Adding a blank slide to the beginning of your project allows you to force a set amount of blank screen before your main movie begins. This can be helpful if you want to begin your movie with a buildup of music, a voice over, or adding a title.
  • End of a track Adding a blank slide to the end of your project allows you to force a set amount of blank screen at the end of your movie. This could be helpful if you still have audio that you want played, but no video to show, or if you want to add credits or an ending slide."

My version (10.94) does not show what is described in the manual.  It simply asks for a color etc., clicking ok exits and does not show any of the above choices as described in the manual or help screens. It ALWAYS adds the blank to the end of my slideshow.

I want to add a blank slide(s) in my existing slide show, so I position the pointer between the two slides where I want to insert a blank tab where I will add a photo or add text to that inserted blank slide.  I used earlier versions of NCH slideshow and was pretty good with it (with the exception of 2 serious bugs I found, reported them to NCH and they denied those bugs existed despite the fact that they were very repeatable) but have been away from it for several months (previously used version 9.x and just upgraded to 10.94 last week). I am getting up there in years (84), it's been a long since I have used slide show so I have forgotten a lot of things about it.  I created a Bio using 9.x and had created a pretty large file, I decided I need to complete it but I need to add to it and found I needed to insert photos and text in the existing slideshow and this really has me confused since the manual says one thing and the program does another.

Any help or guidance very, very much appreciated.
