Modems that won't chop recordings and do DMTF well

Hi,

 

I'm having problems with my system chopping off the first few seconds of all voice mail recordings.

 

I am assuming its a modem incompatability, does anyone have a modem that records the entire message and responds quickly to DMTF (user number entry) in an XP machine. I have gone through 4 modems. I have not tried the Aopen FM56 PX which looks promising.

 

I think there are 3 issues at play

 

- driver audio support for the modem

- full duplex

- hardware vs. software modem

 

Any feedback would be appreciated
